Mrs. Ruiz, an 8th grade English teacher and Middle School English Department Instructional Leader was selected as the Middle School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Kennebrew, a Special Education English teacher and new Special Education Instructional Leader was selected as the High School Teacher of the Year. They both are exemplary teacher who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty. Congratulations to these two amazing teachers!
Summer School is set to begin June 18th at 7:30 in the morning. Students will pick up schedules outside of the BISC office beginning at 7:00 am.
Kelly is our attendance clerk and has worked for BUSD for 16 years. She is always ready to lend a hand and works to improve attendance. Her colleagues call her a "team player" who takes time to engage in a positive manner with students. She supports the Bellflower baseball program and embraces the school BUC's motto, "Because Unity Creates Success!"
Members of the MS Jr Vocal ensemble received a Superior rating at the Southern California Vocal Association Festival on May 24, 2018. Prestigious leaders in the field of vocal education and performance listened to Jr Vocal sing 3 musical selections and gave our students in some cases a 10 out of 10 score and an overall rating of "SUPERIOR," the highest honor awarded to a choral group. Congratulations on a job well done Jr Vocal!
Consultants will be meeting with community members on Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:30 p.m. in the Distinct Board Room to gather input regarding the qualities of the next Superintendent of the Bellflower Unified School District.
